Welcome

Belize Disaster and Rescue Response Team (BDARRT) is a non-profit organization that strives in improving the skills of its members and those that respond during a disaster in order to provide rapid, prompt and efficient rescue services.  BDARRT has been in existence in Belize for almost sixteen years; its mission is to provide timely and efficient rescue responding services to those affected by disasters, adventurous mishaps and other cases requiring specialized and trained individuals to assist in recovery and extraction to those in need.  Since the inception of this organization in 1996, BDARRT now has a membership base of 40 qualified volunteers and has provided hundreds of hours of training exercises, and contributed its man power in many rescue missions—the recent 2010 Hurricane Richard flood in Belize for instance. Moreover, providing medical and rescue services, BDARRT volunteers its services annually for the ‘La Ruta Maya River challenge. BDARRT works in conjunction with NEMO and the National Search and Rescue Committee filling a void and providing an essential service—a service that focuses on the preservation of life in emergency and disaster circumstances here, in Belize, and even other countries around the world.
